Hi, Iā€™m Callie crookston.

I married my husband Greg in 2023, and live in Amherst, Ohio with our children Hazel, Wade and Lainey. I had my first child in 2016, then later my second in 2019 and these births are where I realized how different birth can look when one feels empowered.

In 2022. I started working as a nursing assistant on a Labor Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum floor at a local Cleveland hospital and quickly realized I was a total birth junkie. The unit I work on is set up to support unmedicated births and the Midwifery Model of Care. When I started on the floor I learned to work closely with nurses and midwives on how to help support birthing people in labor and postpartum. After witnessing over 200 births, I realized the importance of direct continuous support needed for moms and partners during childbirth. This is when I knew I could help make a difference and help birthing people feel empowered during and after their birth. After encouragement from my colleagues, I sought out formal training to become a doula. I attended a DONA Birth Doula Workshop and started following my passion as a birth worker.
